Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Certifier

Brief DescriptionThe WIC Certifier provides nutritional education, eligibility assessments and promotes breastfeeding.ResponsibilitiesPerforms eligibility and appropriate certification or appointment for prospective and current WIC participants. Works with participates on developing goals to attain better health. Offers and provides appropriate referrals based on participant need. Provides education to WIC participants on changing nutrition through life stages. Approves and processes Medical Documentation Form from participant's medical provider. Performs breastfeeding review per WIC guidelines before issuing formula. Consistently exhibits Moses Lake Community Health Center's Service Standards with participants and co-workers. Consistently contributes to a work environment that is supportive and values the contributions of everyone. RequirementsPossesses a basic level of written and verbal communications skills, computational and computer skills and mathematical knowledge typically acquired through completion of a high school program. Job duties require specific knowledge of WIC Cascades system processes and practices, typically learned "on the job", or which may include a series of training sessions that would comprise a few weeks if done consecutively. Ability to read and speak Spanish and/or Russian is required. Must have reliable transportation and provide documentation of auto insurance and valid driver's license as required.
