Plant Simulation EngineerWarren, MIMust have: Plantsim/Tecnomatrix, throughput simulation, 3+ years of experience Role SummaryThe Plant Simulation Engineer is responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing discrete event simulation (DES) models to support material flow optimization, manufacturing planning, capacity analysis and launch readiness activities across General Motors production facilities.The simulation engineer will use digital factory tools to evaluate production scenarios, identify bottlenecks, and provide data-driven recommendations to improve throughput, utilization, and operational efficiency. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain digital factory models using Siemens Plant Simulation.Perform manufacturing capacity analysis for body shop, paint shop, and/or General assembly.Analyze - Throughput (Jobs Per Hour), Cycle times, Buffer sizing etc.Create simulation models for:Material handling systems, AMRs / AGVs, Conveyors, Production linesSequencing operationsSupport new vehicle launches through simulation-based validation.Identify bottlenecks and propose process improvements.Validate plant layouts and manufacturing concepts before implementation.Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Controls Engineers, Material Flow Engineers, Process/IE Engineers and Plant Operations teams.Generate reports and present simulation results to plant stakeholders.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in:Industrial Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering / Mechatronics EngineeringRelated Engineering disciplineExperience with Siemens Plant Simulation.Understanding of:Automotive manufacturing processesMaterial flowLean Manufacturing principlesProduction systemsAbility to clearly communicate technical findings to cross-functional teams.Preferred QualificationsAGVs, AMRs, and Automated Material Handling SystemsNice to have:Isaac Sim – another upcoming Simulation tool
