Strategic Sourcing Agent
The Procurement team is growing and searching for a full-time Strategic Sourcing Agent! This position will identify cost savings opportunities, lead sourcing initiatives, collaborate on vendor purchasing programs, and direct the purchase of goods and services necessary for the operation of our business. You will have the means and opportunity to increase profits for the company by helping to drive strategic purchasing initiatives. The successful candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in supply chain management and the ability to negotiate cost savings. This position will report to the Purchasing Manager.Essential Job Functions:Collaborate with corporate departments and stakeholders to strategize, negotiate, and process new vendor contracts and renewalsSeek to identify cost savings and drive value from existing vendor spendCollaborate with stakeholders to assess current and future needs to identify opportunities to consolidate spend, minimize rogue spend and capture process efficienciesAnalyze spend data to identify opportunities for vendor rationalization, buying channel and preferred vendor compliance, etc.Submit requisitions in the Purchasing system on behalf of other business units as necessaryAdminister various vendor programs across the companyCollaborate with the Purchasing Manager to identify sourcing projects to complete throughout the yearGather feedback from Business Units to address vendor performance and other areas, as neededEngage with preferred vendors to obtain quotes, and negotiate pricing and contract business termsAddress and resolve vendor issues as it pertains to contract obligations, including service levels, product / service quality, and pricingProvide support to Business Units regarding purchasing processes, policies, best practices, contracts submittal, etc.Other Skills:Must be able to maintain a courteous, professional working relationship with employees and stakeholdersOutstanding verbal and written communication skillsStrong critical thinking, time management and organizational skillsStrong computer skills and willingness to learn new e-tools and resourcesAbility to work independently and on a teamProficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPointMust be organized with strong attention to detailWillingness to be flexible and adapt to changing job requirementsEducation / Experience:College degree, BS / BA in purchasing, supply chain, business, or equivalentProven experience as a sourcing/purchasing agent or relevant roleDemonstrate negotiating and cost reduction capabilitiesKnowledge of market research, data analysis and purchasing best practicesOracle Cloud experience is a plusPurchasing certification is a plusThis position is on-site in Hunt Valley, MD. Let’s talk.The base salary compensation range for this role is $55,000 to $63,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, quarterly and annual incentive plan bonuses, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, 15 paid vacation days, 2 paid personal days, 9 paid holidays, 40 hours of paid sick leave, parental leave, and employee stock purchase plan.
