Collaboration Support Specialist
Overview:
General Dynamics Electric Boat, the nation's premier designer and builder of nuclear submarines, is seeking an AV support specialist to join the Information Technology department. Responsible for commissioning, maintaining and supporting complex audiovisual systems in secure, compliance-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
Support commissioning, setup, and testing of new AV solutions
Maintain system diagrams, equipment inventories, and technical documentation.
Act as a Tier 2/3 escalation point for audiovisual issues across environments.
Provide hands on AV/IT support for meetings, training, and events.
Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and facilities teams to ensure compliance with security standards.
Perform routine maintenance, updates, and lifecycle support for AV hardware/software.
Train and assist junior members and end users in AV system operation and collaboration tools.
Contribute to operational best practices and SOP development.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
5+ years of experience in AV/IT integration, operations, or technical support
Industry certifications (CTS, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Q Sys, Dante, Security+)
Active DoD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain
Ability to travel to local and remote sites as needed.
Preferred:
Experience supporting executive meetings or government events.
Familiarity with DoD RMF, DISA STIGs, and federal compliance processes.
Windows device management and MDM enrollment
Prior experience working with Electric Boat or other DOD contractors
Proficiency with platforms such as Microsoft Teams Rooms, Cisco, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Shure, Dante, and AV over IP.
Skills:
Must be able to function both independently and within a team environment, and be able to facilitate internal and external team meetings with self-sufficiency
Successful candidates must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational skills, with a demonstrated strong work ethic for completing tasks and work assignments on schedule
Ability to resolve issues involving AV over IP, DSPs, control systems, microphones, and conferencing platforms.
Communicate clearly and professionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to support secure webcasting and streaming services, ensuring accessibility and compliance.
