Position Title: Advanced Manufacturing Teacher(74040/74065/74090 Trade & Industrial Licensure or 820 Technology Education or Accepted)Location: Thomasville High SchoolTerm: 10-Month PositionSalary: Teacher Salary Schedule (Based on State and Local Guidelines)Position SummaryUnder general supervision, the Advanced Manufacturing Teacher will plan, organize, and deliver an instructional program aligned to North Carolina Career and Technical Education (CTE) standards.This position is designed to provide flexibility in staffing by allowing candidates licensed in Trade and Industrial Education (74040, 74065, 74090) or Technology Education (820) to apply. The selected candidate will teach courses based on licensure and program needs.Courses may include, but are not limited to:Advanced ManufacturingDrafting and CADEngineering and Design Fundamentals3D Modeling & Game Art DesignInstruction may include engineering design processes, CAD/CAM systems, manufacturing processes, and emerging technologies.The teacher will create a dynamic, hands-on learning environment that promotes problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, and real-world application of skills, preparing students for both postsecondary education and high-demand careers.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement standards-based lesson plans aligned with NC CTE Essential StandardsDeliver engaging, hands-on instruction using project-based learningIntegrate industry-relevant tools, equipment, and technology into instructionSupport students in earning industry-recognized credentials where applicableMaintain a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom/lab environmentCollaborate with CTE staff, counselors, and administration to support student success and program growthMaintain accurate records and adhere to district and state policiesRequired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of engineering design, digital design, and/or manufacturing processesExperience with tools such as CAD software or manufacturing equipment preferredKnowledge of workplace safety practices and lab/shop managementFamiliarity with NC CTE Essential Standards and career readiness practicesStrong instructional, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences for diverse learnersEducation and Experience RequirementsFor 74040 / 74065 / 74090 Trade & Industrial Candidates:Bachelor's Degree, Associate Degree, or High School Diploma/GED with relevant industry experienceFor 820 Technology Education Candidates:Bachelor's Degree in Technology Education, Engineering, Architecture, or related fieldRelevant experience may include:Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical)Drafting / CAD / Architectural DesignManufacturing / Precision Machining / ProductionConstruction, Cabinetmaking, or Industrial DesignElectronics or Digital TechnologyQuality or Process EngineeringIndustry experience is strongly preferredWhen applying, please include all prior relevant work and industry experienceCertification and LicensureCandidates must hold or be eligible for one of the following North Carolina licenses:74040 - Trade & Industrial Education74065 - Trade & Industrial Education74090 - Trade & Industrial Education (Manufacturing)820 - Technology Education (option for course flexibility)
