With that in mind, we encourage all qualified applicants to apply.Job DescriptionThe Disability Support Manager focuses on helping Seminaries and Institutes of Religion (S&I) become more inclusive and better meet the needs of students with disabilities, mental and emotional health challenges, and other life challenges. This role requires strong experience in working with and teaching individuals with these needs.Through this work, the manager helps youth and young adults deepen their conversion to Jesus Christ and His restored gospel, qualify for the blessings of the temple, and prepare themselves, their families, and others for eternal life with their Father in Heaven.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilitiesPartner with S&I administration, leaders, divisions, and teachers worldwide to strengthen and align policies, practices, and products that are accessible, inclusive, and supportive of students with disabilities, mental and emotional health challenges, and other life challenges.Provide training, guidance, collaboration opportunities, and resources to Disability Support Coordinators to enhance their ability to meet the needs of students with disabilities, mental and emotional health challenges, and other life challenges.Develop and implement professional learning and resources to help teachers better support students with disabilities, mental and emotional health challenges, and other life challenges.Serve on Church committees focused on disabilities, mental and emotional health, and other life challenges.Stay current on best practices related to teaching and supporting students with disabilities, mental and emotional health challenges, and other life challenges.Consult with area and region directors regarding Disability Support Coordinator placement decisions and their ongoing professional development and performance assessments.Partner with Human Resource Services to develop and refine employee policies and practices that address diverse needs.Establish and sustain a culture of unity, continuous improvement, and accountability.Maintain and regularly review a professional development plan; work toward established goals and report progress to the division director.Manage operations, data, reports, and resources.Prepare and oversee the annual operating budget, including financial performance monitoring and safeguarding of Church assets.Supervise and manage the work of assigned employees, which may include a mixed workforce.In partnership with Human Resource Services, hire, terminate, and recommend advancement, promotion, or other employee status changes within the reporting line.Travel as required to fulfill job responsibilities.QualificationsQualificationsMaster’s degree.Ten years of professional experience, including at least six years of people management experience.Educational background and extensive understanding of disability and mental or emotional health issues. Ability to develop high‑quality, engaging face‑to‑face, virtual, and online learning content.Excellent presentation, facilitation, and stand‑up training skills.Knowledge of change management principles and experience developing change management plans.Proven success working with diverse individuals and teams.Excellent interpersonal skills.Ability to manage complex issues and cultivate an inclusive work environment.Experience in risk management and mitigation.Knowledge of human resource practices and the ability to effectively partner with Human Resource Services.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, which may include sitting for extended periods and using computer monitors and equipment.About UsChurch employees find joy and satisfaction in using their unique talents and abilities to further the Lord’s work.
