Validation / Test Engineer

SUMMARY: Work cross-functionally and within the Test Engineering team to lead the development of hardware and software solutions for testing and validation of electro-mechanical products. Support full product life cycle through prototype design tests to test automation and quality assurance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the development of hardware and software solutions for new product validation Develop scripts and software for automatic test control and data gathering. Define and execute detailed test plans to validate products against requirements Develop validation standards and testing protocols Understand product specifications and customer use cases to determine validation requirements Communicate issues and collaborate with R&D engineering team Troubleshoot abnormal test results and analyze root causes Conduct audits of validation and process qualification to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements Procure and maintain validation test equipment and fixtures Manage validation documentation including test software, validation protocols and summary reports Adhere to quality system standards, ESD requirements and safety rules pertaining to the job. Adhere to MultiTech rules and policies and provide leadership through training and example. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 3+ years experience with validation for PCBA based electronics. Good technical documentation skills (test plans, test reports, etc.) Good understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering fundamentals. Experience with programming and scripting languages for test automation (LabVIEW, C, C#, Python, etc.) Knowledge of wireless protocols (LoRaWAN, Bluetooth, cellular, NB-IoT, WiFi, etc.) Familiar with use of lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, lora and gps communication testers, etc.) Familiar with test management software (Jira, Atlassian, Spira, Eagle, etc.) Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills. Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lifting requirements up to 25 pounds. Requires sitting for periods of time and occasional standing. Use hands to finger, handle or feel. Reaching required. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Minimal noise.
