We are building the vehicles, infrastructure, and operational expertise that connect and protect assets across the Earth–Moon system.'Who We’re Looking ForQuantum Space is seeking a Senior Test Engineer with deep expertise in vacuum systems to lead the development and operation of vacuum test infrastructure. This role is critical to validating spacecraft hardware in relevant environments and requires strong hands-on and analytical capability.Where You’ll Make an ImpactDesign and develop vacuum test systems and infrastructureDefine requirements for vacuum performance, instrumentation, and controlOwn vacuum system operation during test campaignsTroubleshoot leaks, contamination, and system performance issuesDevelop vacuum test procedures and verification plansSupport integration of hardware into vacuum environmentsSpecify and integrate pumps, valves, gauges, and control systemsCollaborate with mechanical and AI&T teams to ensure test readinessWhat It TakesBS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field5–10+ years of experience with vacuum systemsDeep knowledge of high/ultra-high vacuum systems and componentsExperience with leak detection (helium mass spectrometry)Experience operating and troubleshooting vacuum systemsStrong hands-on lab/test experienceWork location within the LA areaNice-to-Have ExperienceExperience with spacecraft or aerospace testingFamiliarity with LabVIEW, Python, or data acquisition systemsExperience with thermal vacuum testingWhat You’ll GetOwnership – Lead vacuum test capability developmentImpact – Direct validation of spacecraft hardwareGrowth – Path to test architecture leadershipCompensation – Competitive salary, equity, and comprehensive benefitsLocation: Hawthorne, CACompensation: $125,000 to $180,000 Annual Salary Depending on ExperienceAdditional RequirementsTo comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including ITAR, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required authorizations.
