Production Accountant

Illumination is currently seeking a Production Accountant to join our team in Santa Monica. This position will support the day-to-day operational accounting functions for Illumination’s animated feature films. This role is a dynamic and exciting position at the intersection of our Santa Monica office and Illumination Studios Paris production teams.Responsibilities:Process cast and crew payroll, accounts payable and all payments related to productionExecute weekly accounts payable for production and studio teams such as, but not limited to: paying invoices, setting up vendors, initiating, and finalizing all paperworkPrepare cash flow forecasting, funding requests, and funding reconciliationsPrepare monthly bank reconciliationsPrepare journal entries with supporting backup, ensuring that correct account codes are utilized, and transactions are accurately explained and supportedHighly organized and comfortable performing timely and precise processing of paperwork, records, and file maintenanceAid in Production Audits throughout the life of the productionProvide monthly cost reporting support to production team located in Paris, FranceSupport residual/guild reporting to production partners post film completionQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field or equivalent is preferred2-5 years of related production accounting experience requiredHighly detail oriented with strong analytical and communication skillsHandles confidential information with a high degree of discretion and good judgmentIATSE Local 839 and Local 700 Experience is a plusExperience with industry specific accounting programs such as Smart Accounting preferredProficiency with Excel requiredThe base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000 per year.
