Medical Practitioner

The Passamaquoddy Health Center (PHC) is seeking a Medical Practitioner. The Medical Practitioner acts as an independent practitioner, completes patient evaluations and initiates appropriate treatment within an ambulatory, non-emergent primary care setting at the Passamaquoddy Health Center at Indian Township, Maine. This is preferably a full-time position, however, part-time employment, if desired, would be considered. The Medical Practitioner is under the direct supervision of the Health Director, oversight is managed by the Medical Director. Pay is negotiable. No weekends, no on call duty. Qualifications: Current and uninhibited professional licensure from any U.S. state to practice medicine independently. Compliance with licensure continue medical education requirements. A valid, unrestricted DEA Certificate and completion of an accredited training program with post graduate training allowing independent practice. Physicians must be board certified, in Family or Internal Medicine. Knowledge, Skill, Abilities: 1. Must possess current credentialing when completing any procedure in clinic. 2. Knowledge and skill to minor surgical operations and emergency interventions. 3. Knowledge and skill in operating multi-user computer systems (PC) and software such as word processing, RPMS, and EHR to carry out assigned administrative duties and enter information on employee medical record. 4. Knowledge of the requirements of the Privacy Act, HIPPA guidelines, and Freedom of Information Act to safeguard confidential information and releases basic medical information to clients, families, and others. 5. Knowledge of the internal organization of the patient health records, and capacity to extract medical information used in planning of patient care or to code diagnostic and operative/ procedural information. 7. Knowledge of AAAHC recommendations concerning appropriate medical documentation for accurate and timely record keeping and billing. 8. Capacity to fully perform clinic services and the procedures common to the providers specialty. Capacity to interpret test and x-ray results accurately and properly. Complete patient histories, physicals, chart reviews and create treatment plans appropriate to patient needs.
