The Physical Therapist effectively treats a wide variety of oncology diagnoses as well as other types of patients treated at Fred Hutch. Besides clinical duties, the Physical Therapist is responsible for maintaining thorough documentation of services to patients and also serves as a clinical resource to all Fred Hutch departments and clinicians. Facilitates referrals to internal and community resources as appropriatePart Time - Hours Variable - Fully OnsiteResponsibilitiesEvaluating, planning and administering treatment to Fred Hutch patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systemsAdministering and interpreting tests and measurements of muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiencyInstructing patients and their caregivers/families in the care and use of wheelchairs, braces, canes, crutches, and other equipment or devicesMaintaining patient documentation, including writing initial evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, home programs, and insurance authorization requirementsDevising special tools and treatment methods for the specific needs of each patient servedEvaluating treatment goals and progress towards these goalsServing as a clinical resource for all Fred Hutch departments and cliniciansCompleting other duties as assigned by Physical Therapy Manager to meet the mission of the department, which may include educational lectures, student instruction, networking to other clinical services, volunteer supervision, process improvement activities, and/or quality improvement projectsQualificationsRequired:Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy programMaster's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy programAt least 2 years of relevant clinical physical therapy experienceWA State Physical Therapy License (or meet DOH criteria for the Physical Therapist Compact Privilege)Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course, such as by the American Red Cross) and renewal required every two yearsDemonstrates behaviors that are consistent with Fred Hutch Mission and ValuesFollows organizational and departmental policies and proceduresDisplays excellent customer service and relations skillsCommunicates concisely and effectively, both orally and written, with co-workers, physicians, patients, and caregiversAbility to promote and maintain excellent interpersonal relationshipsAbility to demonstrate flexibility, attention to detail, and work under pressureAbility to adapt to rapidly changing and stressful situations including balancing the need for quality of work with the need to respond to workloadAbility to take initiative in identifying and resolving problems and participating in making improvements for the purpose of improving quality of care and servicesAbility to be proactive, use strategic thinking and sound judgment to accomplish tasksAccepts responsibility for all aspects of the positionDemonstrates ability to work independently to perform job duties and refers appropriate questions and/or decisions to their supervisorWorks well with team members toward a common purpose;
