Project Engineer
JOB SUMMARY:The Project Engineer, in conjunction with plant staff, the Management Team, and Process Engineer, is responsible for identifying, designing and completing projects intended to maintain, improve or expand the capital infrastructure of the plant. The Project Engineer may also support new developmental projects.KEY FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:Develops and manages capital project budgets and implementation.Develop and implement training plans for introduction of new technologies or equipment to operating personnel and staffSupports Process Engineer with new process/product development projects.Program and troubleshoot plant controlsAid with plant process controls issues and improvementsDesign and implement process automation projects as needed.Provides plant with engineering technical support including development and maintenance of technical and engineering standardsReinforces the company’s drive for continuous improvement by applying the company’s Quality Management System to project engineering activitiesSupport the company’s Environmental Health and Safety policies and standards in daily operations including driving compliance with the PSM regulationWorks with external engineering firms when internal discipline is not availableREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Education/ExperienceBachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related engineering discipline3+ years process/project experience in the chemical process industryExperience developing and managing capital projects and budgetsOther SkillsProficient in a Windows Office environment, including Excel, Outlook and PowerPointExcellent communication and organization skillsStrong sense of ownership of results – excellence in executionSchneider Electric systems knowledge preferredExcellent communication skills with the ability to make presentations to managementUnderstanding of ISO standard and application in the chemical process industry
