Data Center Operations Technician

Basic qualifications Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years’ of equivalent experience in a relevant industry (for example: electrical or mechanical) 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience 2+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office products (including Excel, Word and PowerPoint) Role Description The Data Center Engineering Ops Technicians (EOTs) are Amazon’s front line responders for hands-on electrical & mechanical equipment troubleshooting & operation. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, standby diesel generators, switchboards/switchgear, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, pumps, motors, VFDs, & building automation systems. Provide 24/7 shift coverage which could include 12 hour shifts, rotating shifts & 3 / 4 day work weeks. Role Responsibilities (EOT) is responsible for operating & maintaining all electrical, mechanical & fire/life safety equipment within the data center. The EOT serves as a tech resource to support within AWS owned & operated data centers. This data center equipment supports mission-critical servers & must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. EOT’s are tasked with driving innovation while reducing ops costs.
