Full Stack Engineer / Cloud Engineer | Location: Houston, TXMandatory SkillsSoftware Developer with experience in Python and a strong understanding of various AWS services and components.Design, build, deploy, and operate scalable, secure, highly available, and reliable AWS infrastructure.Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure and platform solutions using AWS best practices.Implement and manage automated CI/CD pipelines to deliver infrastructure and application changes efficiently and reliably.Automate deployment, configuration, and operational processes to improve scalability, consistency, and system reliability.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an engineer-first cloud professional who combines strong software engineering expertise with deep AWS infrastructure experience. This role is responsible for designing, building, testing, deploying, and operating production-grade AWS platforms using software engineering best practices. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable working within large production codebases and automating cloud infrastructure through Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD-driven delivery models.This is a hands-on engineering role. While architectural thinking is important, the primary expectation is that the individual can personally build, automate, test, deploy, and operate the solutions they design.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, deploy, and operate scalable, secure, and reliable AWS infrastructure.Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar technologies.Contribute to and work effectively within large, complex production software codebases.Deliver infrastructure and platform changes through automated CI/CD pipelines.Build repeatable, testable, and fully automated cloud infrastructure solutions.Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, code reviews, deployment, monitoring, and production support.Troubleshoot complex platform, infrastructure, and application issues across development and production environments.Collaborate with engineering teams to improve platform reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.Drive engineering excellence through automation, testing, observability, and operational best practices.Engage in technical discussions, design reviews, and architecture decisions while embracing constructive challenge and feedback.Required QualificationsStrong software development experience with a proven ability to work on large-scale production systems and complex codebases.Hands-on experience designing and managing AWS cloud infrastructure.Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent platforms.Strong understanding of the end-to-end Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including:Software design and developmentUnit and integration testingCode reviewsCI/CD implementationDeployment automationMonitoring and observabilityProduction operations and supportExperience building highly automated, repeatable, and testable infrastructure platforms.Demonstrated experience delivering infrastructure changes through automated deployment pipelines rather than manual processes.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, engineering-focused environment.Strong collaboration and communication skills with a low-ego, high-accountability engineering mindset.Preferred QualificationsExperience with AWS data, analytics, or machine learning services such as SageMaker and related AWS platform services.Exposure to platform engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or cloud-native operational models.Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and operational automation frameworIdeal Candidate ProfileComputer Science or Software Engineering graduate.Approximately 3 to 5 years of experience as a software engineer before transitioning into cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE.Strong engineering fundamentals with a builder mindset and passion for automation.Capable of owning solutions throughout their lifecycle, from design and implementation to deployment and production operations.Values practical execution over purely architectural responsibilities and enjoys working directly with technology to solve complex engineering problems.
