Job Description – Java Backend Developer with GCP ExpertiseLocation: Woonsocket, RIJob SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Java Backend Developer with strong Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise to design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise backend applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and GCP cloud services and will work closely with architects, DevOps engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performance solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.Build and enhance RESTful APIs and Microservices for enterprise applications.Develop cloud-native solutions and deploy applications on GCP.Work with GCP services such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Cloud SQL, and Secret Manager.Design and implement highly available, scalable, and secure backend solutions.Develop integrations with internal and external systems using APIs and messaging technologies.Implement application security, authentication, authorization, and secure API practices.Troubleshoot application issues, analyze logs, and perform performance tuning.Work with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps teams to automate build, deployment, and release processes.Participate in architecture and design discussions and contribute to technical solution decisions.Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.Collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA teams, and other engineering teams in an Agile environment.Support production deployments, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis.Required SkillsStrong hands-on experience with Java 8/11/17+.Strong experience with Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.Strong experience developing REST APIs.Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Experience with GCP services such as GKE, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, or Cloud Functions.Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.Experience with messaging/event-driven technologies such as Pub/Sub or Kafka.Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices.Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills.Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.Preferred SkillsExperience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code (IaC).Experience with Google Cloud IAM, Secret Manager, and security controls.Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Cloud Logging and Cloud Monitoring.Knowledge of distributed systems and cloud-native architecture.Experience with Kafka and event-driven microservices.Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.7+ years of software development experience, with significant experience in Java backend development.Strong hands-on experience building and supporting enterprise-grade applications in cloud environments.Thanks & RegardsMaroot Chaudhary
