Senior Structural Engineer

Job Description: Support our growing Energy Practice's Power Delivery InitiativeAct as the structural lead and engineer of record for substations, switchyards and other electrical infrastructure projectsPerform engineering calculations and develop analytical models for both structural steel and concrete designWork with Project Engineers and Project Managers on developing workload forecasts, design schedules and budgets for civil/structural work activitiesAssist with developing task and effort estimates for proposal supportContribute to overall business development strategy around substation and high voltage electrical infrastructureCoordinate with civil/structural design team to direct completion of engineering drawingsMulti-discipline collaboration on the development of general arrangements, vendor procurement packages and similarCreate, update, and implement group specific standardsPrepare technical reports and presentations that explain research, findings, and recommendationsPrepare project technical specifications and contract documentsCheck and verify work prepared by peer/groupProvide mentorship for other civil/structural engineers and contribute to department standards developmentOccasional travel required to other AECOM locations and Client sitesRequirements: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field6 years of relevant experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationExperience in structural design for overhead and underground transmission and distribution systemsExperience with Substation projectsProfessional Engineering Licensure (PE)10 years of experience preferred with at least 3 years as structural engineering lead/engineer of record on projectsComprehensive understanding of industry codes and standards (e.g. NESC, G.O.95, ASCE 113, ASCE 10, ASCE 48, IEEE 605, IEEE 693, AISC 360, ASCE 7, IBC, ACI 318, RUS, ASCE design guidelines, NEC)Demonstrated experience in participating complex, multi-discipline programs/projects and CAD teamsExperience executing work in 3D model environmentsProgressive professional experience in the modeling, analysis and design of steel structures and foundationsExperience with various voltage levels (4kV, 12kV, 138kV, 230kV, 500kV, etc.)Proficiency in PLS-CADD packages (PLS-Tower, PLS-Pole, PLS-Tower, etc.)Experience with structural analysis and design software (e.g. Staad.PRO, SAP2000, MFAD, L-Pile)Experience working with remote teamsExperience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish.Owner's Engineering experienceExperience with retrofit or brown field projectsBenefits: Health insurance401(k) matchingFlexible work optionsPaid time offProfessional development opportunitiesEmployee assistance programWell-being resourcesBusiness travel insuranceRetirement savings planService recognition awards
