Maintenance Technician
Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team. This position is responsible for conducting basic maintenance in both vacant and tenant occupied apartments / homes. This role is perfect for those who can work alone for long periods of time, communicate clearly with team members, have high attention to detail, and working knowledge of a variety of trade skills.
We provide a company vehicle, tools, and company phone for work purposes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience with turnover maintenance.
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures and protocols.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Safety conscious
- Comfortable using smartphone and computer.
- Good customer service skills.
- Physically capable of bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting (up to 50 lbs unassisted)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent proactivity and problem solving skills.
- Solid understanding of building construction principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to perform all job duties and responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Willing to learn and take on new tasks and responsibilities.
- Utilize company software to track work orders, email, communicate with others, and track time.
- Assist with other duties as assigned, such as painting, cleaning, and repairs.
- Ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Report violations, concerns, and maintenance issues to management.
- Mandatory on call rotation (working with the team to stabilize a situation whether in person or phone coordination).
- Complete company trainings and comply with safety policies and all industry, local, state, and federal laws.
- Collaborate with other maintenance technicians to prioritize tasks and optimize workflow under the direction of the Turnover Coordinator and/or Maintenance Coordinator.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests and ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard.
- Document maintenance activities and repairs in a timely and accurate manner.
- Complete turnover checklists.
- Basic light fixture replacements, repair window screens, minor sheetrock and drywall repairs, basic woodworking (doors, baseboards, cabinets, etc.), caulking, smoke detector replacement / installation, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.50 per hour
