Position: Thin Film Process Engineer Location: Santa Rosa, California Labor Type: Full-time MAC Thin Films, an innovative Santa Rosa based company specializing in optical thin film coatings and post-coat, value-add operations, is looking for a Thin Film Process Engineer. The Company has a strong position in the markets it serves, producing high quality optical coatings using both in-line and batch coaters. We specialize in high performance mirror coatings, anti-reflection coatings and conductive coatings that serve global customers in the display, office equipment and automotive markets. Role - Provides direct, hands-on support to daily manufacturing operations in evaporative thin film deposition and post-coating fabrication processes - Creates work instructions/process flows for new products - Works with the sales team and directly with customers to develop and implement new products that are designed for manufacturing - Utilizes optical thin film design software to create new coating designs and simulate performance, including Monte-Carlo simulation - Develops new thin film coating processes, associated process control measures and documentation - Troubleshoots and performs root-cause investigation for process variances and product defects - Creates a variety of internal and external reports according to standard templates - Develops expertise with metrology systems including spectrophotometers and configures measurement parameters based on best practices - Supports continuous improvement and product quality, adheres to the ISO9001:2015 standard - Communicates in a clear, concise and effective manner both verbally and in written form - Utilizes a systems approach to solving issues that includes considering the “big picture” - Adherence and promotion of the MTF Corporate Values: respect, integrity, quality, safety and teamwork Requirements - BS in Engineering or Science Discipline - 1+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment - Competent in Microsoft Word, Outlook & Excel - Travel to customer sites (domestic and international) to provide direct support for technical issues is required - Some off-shift work is required to support production needs Preferred Qualifications - BS or higher in Physics, Chemical Engineering or Material Science - 3+ years’ experience as a Process Engineer working in thin film deposition - Experience with utilization of Project Management principles and tools Pay: $80,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee assistance program Flexible schedule Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Retirement plan Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Work Location: In person
