Clinical Education Specialist - Instructional Design & Training Expert
Position OverviewIn this vital role, you will collaborate with the Clinical Informatics team, system analysts, and stakeholders to create engaging learning materials and educational packages. Your focus will be on adult learning principles and instructional design best practices, ensuring resources promote user self-sufficiency. You will design, develop, and optimize curriculum and adoption materials, utilizing established instructional design models and format standards.These resources will support various training methodologies, including in-person and virtual instructor-led training, self-paced online learning, Credential Trainer materials, and system adoption initiatives across the organization and community partners.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with Clinical Informatics team members, business informatics professionals, system analysts, and stakeholders to enhance education, adoption, and communication efforts.Act as a subject matter expert in change communication and education, partnering with team leaders and senior education specialists.Support design and review of curriculum, ensuring effective learning objectives and relevant content.Train, mentor, and communicate with affiliates, community partners, and Credential Trainers.Create engaging curriculum and adoption materials, including multimedia content for diverse audiences.Develop flexible content that promotes end-user self-sufficiency and adheres to established design models.Design and produce online video and interactive training materials using eLearning authoring software.Collaborate with senior education specialists to build and maintain training scenarios and address troubleshooting needs in training environments.Participate in quality review processes to ensure educational materials meet established standards and guidelines.Engage in end-user training, virtually or in person.Assess the effectiveness of educational deliverables through evaluations and feedback.Manage content updates to ensure relevance and timeliness.Assist in distributing educational materials via learning management systems and tools.Support role mapping and logistical planning for large-scale deployments.Develop communications related to educational initiatives and participate in additional activities related to Clinical Informatics.QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong collaboration and team-building skills.Ability to gather, analyze, and communicate business requirements.Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.Strong organizational and project management skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in conducting learning task analysis and evaluating training effectiveness.Quick learner with understanding of end-user workflows and system functionality.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Clinical discipline, Information Technology/Informatics, Business, Education).Two years of experience in similar responsibilities within a healthcare setting.Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.Understanding of adult learning principles.Preferred QualificationsInformatics certifications or relevant credentialing upon hire (may be considered equivalent to 2 years of experience).Licenses And CertificationsEpic certification in one or more Epic modules within 6 months of hire is required.Other system application certifications as necessary for assigned work.Employment Type: Full-Time
