Salary: $20.45 / hourly
This position will be assigned to the City of Aberdeen Maintenance Shop on Aberdeen Proving Ground and will require a Tier 1 level Background Check, in addition to the standard pre-employment background check.
This position requires the applicant to have a CDL or the ability to get a CDL and to pass a DOT physical.
Job Summary
The City Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to maintain APG's infrastructure and public spaces. This position requires a knowledge of maintenance procedures, a commitment to safety, and a dedication to providing excellent service to the public.
Duties and Responsibilities
Concrete and asphalt finishing
Maintain city streets, sidewalks, and public areas by performing tasks such as sweeping, raking, and removing litter.
Repair and maintain city infrastructure such as street signs, traffic signals, and drainage systems.
Inspect and repair buildings and equipment.
Operate light and heavy machinery such as tractors, mowers, and trucks.
Perform basic maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing, and electrical work.
Use safety equipment and follow safety procedures at all times.
Work with other city departments and contractors to ensure timely completion of projects.
Provide excellent customer service to the public.
Skills and Qualifications
Experience with concrete and asphalt.
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to lift and move heavy objects
Ability to work in all weather conditions
Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of basic repair and maintenance techniques
Ability to use light and heavy machinery
Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision
Valid driver's license
