Snowflake Architect

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Snowflake Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable data solutions using Snowflake cloud data platform. This role is pivotal in transforming complex data landscapes into actionable insights, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. Duties Lead the architecture and design of scalable, secure, and high-performance Snowflake data warehouses aligned with business needs and best practices in cloud database architecture. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive data models, ensuring optimal performance and scalability for large-scale data warehousing projects. Develop and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using tools like Informatica, Spark, and Bash scripts to facilitate efficient data ingestion from diverse sources such as NoSQL databases, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and Hadoop ecosystems. Optimize query performance through tuning techniques and performance monitoring to ensure rapid access to analytics-ready data. Integrate Snowflake with other cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, leveraging services such as Azure Data Lake and Azure Data Factory for seamless data workflows. Design system architectures that support business intelligence (BI), analytics, and master data management initiatives while ensuring compliance with security standards. Lead efforts in implementing best practices for data modeling, system design for system development, and scalability to accommodate growing big data requirements. Stay abreast of emerging technologies in big data, NoSQL databases, and cloud computing to continuously enhance our analytics infrastructure. Skills Extensive experience with Snowflake cloud data platform architecture and implementation. Strong proficiency in SQL programming and database design principles across platforms like Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and Hadoop ecosystems. Hands-on expertise in ETL tools such as Informatica; scripting skills in Bash (Unix shell) are a plus. Deep understanding of NoSQL databases and linked data concepts for flexible schema design. Practical knowledge of cloud services including AWS (Amazon Web Services), Azure (Microsoft’s cloud platform), Azure Data Lake, and related big data tools like Spark and Hadoop. Experience with data modeling projects focusing on scalability, performance tuning, and system integration for large-scale data warehouses. Familiarity with business intelligence tools and analytics frameworks to support insightful decision-making. Knowledge of system design for system development processes within Agile methodologies; ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Strong analytical skills combined with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly across teams.
