Senior Telecommunications Specialist

Position Summary:
The Senior Telecommunications Specialist will possess analytical, problem solving, and
communication skills in working with technical, functional, and management personnel. The
ideal candidate must have experience working with COMSEC type 1 KEY and associated
equipment. The Senior Telecommunications Specialist will conduct secure telecommunication
equipment (STE) installation, repair, upgrades, troubleshooting and destruction of Controlled
Cryptographic Items (CCI). Will utilize NSA approved Key Management Systems and
associated equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage, administer, maintain, secure, install, and support secure telecommunications equipment for Agency Headquarters operations and the COMSEC Key Management System.
Interface and integrate with local classified and unclassified wide area network (WAN) telecommunications operations to ensure secure telecommunications compatibility and connectivity.
Detect, diagnose, analyze, report, and resolve issues related to hardware and application software supporting classified telecommunications equipment and cryptographic items.
Assist with COMSEC audits, inspections, inventories, and training, as required.
Maintain awareness of emerging secure telecommunications equipment and COMSEC
Key Management requirements and operational changes.
Ensure protection of operations and equipment in accordance with Agency and applicable national policy requirements.
Requirements:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical discipline is preferred but not required.
Combination of 8 years of relevant industry experience in Type 1 Key management and secure telecommunications/COMSEC equipment and/or Federal Government experience with relevant certifications
Salary Range:
$130,000-$150,000
The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation

internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other
law.
