Blown Film Operator
Blown OperatorPrintpack Jackson - an industry leader in flexible packaging - is looking for a qualified candidate to fill our Blown Operator position. The ideal candidate will possess initiative, communication and computer skills, as well as the ability to troubleshoot issues. The Blown Film Operator is a skilled manufacturing professional responsible for operating and managing Blown Line equipment to ensure efficient production, quality standards, and timely delivery of customer orders. This role combines technical expertise with leadership qualities to maintain optimal production conditions while promoting safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position reports to the Shift Supervisor.This is a 12-hour night shift (7pm - 7am) on a 2/2/3 schedule. Pay starts at $23.58/hr + a $2.50/hr shift differential for night shift!Key Responsibilities:Operate Blown Film Line equipment to meet production schedules and customer requirementsCollaborate with plant leadership to drive results in the key metrics of safety, waste, productivity and qualityTroubleshoot mechanical and operational issuesExecute machine adjustments to maintain product specificationsPerform regular equipment inspections and preventive maintenanceMonitor and maintain product quality according to established standardsCoordinate the efficient execution of all changeovers, weekly PMs, and scheduled PM production activitiesChampion workplace safety initiatives and protocolsPromote and maintain a safety-first cultureServe as a resource regarding PRISM shop floor transaction informationAct as a change agent in developing a positive culture focused on continuous improvementIdentify and implement process improvement opportunitiesMake informed decisions regarding production issuesEvaluate and prioritize operational needsEducation/Experience:Stable work historyPrevious manufacturing experience preferredRequired Skills:Basic computer proficiency including emailAbility to accurately read and use measuring toolsSelf-directed and task-oriented with the ability to multitaskProblem-solving capabilitiesStrong attention to detailGood organizational skillsBasic math and measurement skillsAbility to follow detailed instructionsPhysical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift materials as requiredGood communication skillsAdditional Requirements:Must be at least 18 years of ageMust pass pre-employment assessmentsDrug screening requiredBackground check requiredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Basic understanding of blown film processes and equipmentKnowledge of safety protocols and proceduresUnderstanding of quality control standardsKnowledge of PRISM or similar manufacturing software systemsBasic mathematical concepts and measurementsAbility to accurately read and use measuring toolsStrong time management capabilitiesUnderstand Basic equipment maintenance and cleaningMechanically InclinedAttention to detailAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsEffective communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPhysical Demands:The associate will be exposed to the manufacturing environment where hazards and requirements may include but are not limited to:Capability to lift and move up to 50 poundsAbility to climb, kneel, bend, and squatAbility to ascend and descend stairsAbility to work from heightsProficiency in grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine motor skillsManual dexterity for machine operation and maintenanceAbility to climb ladders safelyCapacity to stand and walk for extended periodsAbility to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses)Forklift certification or ability to obtain forklift and pallet jacksWork Conditions:Noise levels above 80 dBOperation of complex machinerySolvents, fumes and inksVariable TemperaturesMust be able to work flexible shiftsMay require nights, weekends, and holidays.An additional $2.50/hr premium for NIGHT Shift only between the hours of 7pm-7am.
