We invite you to apply to join our team of employees who are dedicated to excellence that meet the needs of the warfighters and our customers around the world, day in and day out.Job SummaryProvides technical support to the quality and quality engineering (QE) functions | Conducts quality control (QC) inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards | Captures and analyzes statistical data from processes to either confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards | Recommends new or enhanced methods, procedures and standards Impact of the Role General ProfileRequires proficiency through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experienceMay acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experienceCompletes work with a limited degree of supervision and regularly provides guidance to othersPerforms manual tasks according to established proceduresEssential FunctionsPerforms repetitive and routine inspections, checks, tests and sampling procedures of standard parts, units, equipment, or materials. Performs inspections of purchased parts, subassemblies or finished company products according to well-defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/or electrical measurements. Reworks or rejects subassemblies or finished products as required. Performs audits to ensure standards of quality are maintained. Documents the results of the inspections and testing. Coordinates calibration of test equipment and fixtures. Assists with inspection procedures, protocol and checklists. Required QualificationsRequired education and experience: High School Diploma/GED required and 3-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or ExperiencePreferred QualificationsPreferred education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree. Proficient in the use of Standard Measurement Instruments (SMI) such as, but not limited to, CMM, optical comparator, microscopes, calipers, micrometers and height gauges.Basic understanding of AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management Systems and AS9102 First Article Process, and a strong understanding of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5-2009.Zeiss CMM experience using Calypso software.Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Mathematical skills. Computer skills. Technical expertise. Detail oriented.Physical RequirementsRequires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.May need to stand for long periods of time.Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.May be requested to work a different shift.Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.This position is Safety-Sensitive.Travel RequirementsNo or very little travel likely. Pay Range (USD) $59,592.00 - $80,624.00Additional CompensationHired applicant may be eligible to participate in the Company’s Gain Sharing Program.
