We are seeking a Technical Engineering Manager to lead technical execution, operational systems, and customer growth for the business. This is not a traditional engineering management role. We are looking for an ambitious leader who thrives in ambiguity, builds scalable systems, and creates long-term customer value through engineering excellence, digital innovation, and operational execution. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in wire harnesses with strong customer engagement, business leadership, and manufacturing systems thinking.What you get to doBusiness & Technical LeadershipLead technical strategy and operational execution for the wire harness businessDevelop scalable systems for quoting, design reviews, manufacturing workflows, and customer onboardingTrack and improve key operational metrics including quote turnaround, smartBuild-ready designs, delivery performance, and ECO reductionSupport growth planning, investment prioritization, and business reviewsCustomer Engagement & EngineeringLead technical discovery reviews with customers across aerospace, defense, medical, robotics, and industrial sectors  Translate customer requirements into manufacturable, scalable solutionsCollaborate with commercial teams to establish Re:Build as a trusted engineering and manufacturing partner  Drive customer benefit through engineering optimization and rapid execution  Digital Manufacturing & Process InnovationOwn and improve digital wire harness workflows using Cadonix Arcadia, QuoteBuilder, AI tools, and smartBuildBuild repeatable RFQ/RFP and production execution processesPartner with digital teams to accelerate automation, validation, and manufacturing integrationHelp establish Re:Build as a center of excellence for digital-native wire harness manufacturingManufacturing & Operational ExcellenceSupport development of digitally optimized manufacturing capabilitiesDrive continuous improvement across engineering, production, and customer engagement workflowsAlign technical execution with profitability, quality, and delivery goalsWhat You Bring to the TeamBS or equivalent experience in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (advanced degree or MBA preferred)  10+ years in engineering and/or manufacturing environments3+ years leading technical teams in wire harness, cable assembly, or electro-mechanical systemsStrong understanding of wire harness design, manufacturability, and production processesExperience with ECAD/wire harness design tools (Cadonix Arcadia preferred)Knowledge of automated processing, assembly, testing equipment, and regulated manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with aerospace, defense, medical, or industrial quality standards and ITAR environmentsProven ability to build scalable systems and operational processesStrong customer-facing technical communication skillsExperience managing fast-paced, high-iteration customer programsAbility to balance strategic thinking with hands-on executionDemonstrated use of data and leading indicators to drive business outcomesExperience with project management, ERP/MES, and PLM/PDM systemsComfortable using AI and digital tools to improve productivity and decision-makingIPC/WHMA-A-620, AS9100, or equivalentTravel up to 30% required. Preferred location: Kalamazoo, MI (Re:Build Tekna facility), with consideration for candidates near major hardtech hubs.Compensation Range: The base salary range for this position is $138,000 – $ 208,000 per year. This range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the base compensation for this role at the time of posting.  Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for annual incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives, subject to Company plans.
