Controls Technician (Blythewood)

Controls TechnicianAssists in the installation, implementation, and upgrades of automation systems. May maintain a tracking system for usage evaluation. Maintains an inventory of all equipment, hardware, software and supplies. Troubleshoots, maintains, and monitors PLC, servo drives, vision systems and robots. Receives instruction, guidance and direction from the Technical Engineering Manager.Duties and Responsibilities:Support current manufacturing equipmentAssist Controls Engineers in the commissioning of new high-volume equipmentTroubleshoot controls to include relay logic, PLC (statement list and ladder), HMI, encoders, scales, and control wiring with the use of a multimeter, amp probe and/or oscilloscope.Work with AC voltages between 12volts and 480 volts. DC voltages between 5 volts and 710 volts.Reduce machine downtime by performing targeted repair and/or scheduled controls related to PMGain a working knowledge of the Siemens and Fanuc numeric controls as well as frequency drives from different vendorsQualifications:High school diploma or GEDU.S. Citizen or Green Card holderAt least 3 years of experience in IT and/or computer control systemsControls experience (Siemens, Fanuc, Allen Bradley, etc.)Ability to use a programming device (laptop) to troubleshoot, make program changes, backup and monitor PLC's and controllersAbility to train othersAbility to perform minor repairs on controls boards replacing discrete components using soldering ironExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenExperience in a production environmentExperience in AC Motor Controls, such as the Siemens, Fanuc, and AC/DC Servo drives from different vendorsExperience in PC troubleshooting and repairBasic Knowledge of Network protocols – Profibus, Ethernet IP, Profinet, OPCSelf-motivated, team-oriented individual who will work with little to no supervisionBasic experience in Cognex and Keyence Vision SystemsBarcode scanner experience in installation and troubleshootingExperience with Microsoft SQL ServerLab View – Basic troubleshooting software and hardwareVisual Basic and/or Visual Studio (C#)Stanadyne is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, sex, gender, color, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status or any other protected class.
