Solutions Engineer
Your impact
Work closely with the Sales team to introduce StreetLight Data’s unique technology to prospective customers and to implement pilot projects; primarily support Sales in the Western US territory but work with other SEs as a team.
Define and implement technical solutions based on the StreetLight InSight platform to meet customer needs.
Develop and deliver presentations and demos of the software tailored to engage audiences in their local city, region, or state.
Transmit cultivated relationships with technical members of staff at end‑user government agencies and engineering firms.
Work with Product Management and Engineering to define the product roadmap based on interactions with customers.
Collaborate with Marketing to guide development of sales materials, lead webinars, and prepare presentations for industry conferences and events.
Participate in building an internal knowledge base of technical and market‑related knowledge by delivering internal presentations and/or training course development.
Interface with other functional groups, project teams and internal stakeholders to effectively work toward the goal of jointly achieving assigned quotas.
Provide regular updates to management, operations and support staff concerning account issues and financial status.
Telecommuting is allowed.
TRAVEL: 30% domestic travel to conferences, trade shows and professional meetings.
Here’s what you’ll need
REQUIREMENTS: A Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field, and 2 years of work experience in a closely related occupation in transportation planning or transportation engineering.
Expertise/knowledge of SQL, statistics, data visualization skills for querying and analyzing data, and validating big data metrics against third‑party data.
Strategic account planning and sales management.
Software tools such as JIRA/Confluence, ArcGIS, Tableau/Power BI, Excel, Alteryx.
Presenting to a technical and non‑technical audience on how big data can help serve customer needs in transportation planning, engineering, and policy.
Ability to work with cross‑functional groups and jointly achieve project goals.
Transportation analytics and how big data can support transportation projects.
RFP (Request for Proposals) and other procurement processes by transportation agencies.
Consulting firm business practices and public‑agency department operations in transportation planning, traffic engineering, environmental, highways, and transit.

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $125,923.00 to $135,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
