Access Control Security Systems Technician
Job Summary:The Service Technician is responsible for on-site installation, service, maintenance, warranty, and repair on various security-related equipment. The incumbent provides training on equipment operations and maintenance tasks to customers. This position is safety-oriented and works independently on a case-by-case basis, working one-on-one with the customer to resolve a service interruption. The Service Technician must have strong mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Provide customer support and end-user equipment operations trainingService and maintenance on various vehicle barriers, operated bollards, operated gates, and other security-related equipmentRespond quickly to customer inquiries, problems, and concernsCommunicate and document all maintenance and repair itemsUtilize networking systems (IP address, computer networks, radio frequencies, IP Cameras, Access Control, and radar systems)Send daily status reports to appropriate contractors, supervisors, and deployed security officer (DSO)Verify material, tool, and equipment needs, as necessary to jobsSupport various departments on special projectsPromote training & growth among the teamStrive for excellence in Company safety and quality work standardsPromote excellent housekeeping of jobsite, tools, vehicle, and equipmentSkillset required:Organizational skillsComputer, Internet, and software knowledgeProblem-solving skillsResearch, analysis, report development, and documentation skillsPreferred:Some experience or interestwith security and barrier systemsKnowledge and skills in:High Voltage Electricity safety (Recognizing when to contact an electrician. This position will not work on high voltage electrical jobs unless possessing an electrician’s license.)Low Voltage SystemsSensor calibrationFiber-opticsProgrammable Logic Controls (PLCs)Mechanical and hydraulic systemsTroubleshooting of vehicle barriers and gate systemsProviding guidance to end-users for solving problemsSafety practices when working with barriersMechanical devices, electrical devices, and traffic patternsGeneral construction processesProject logisticsCCTV and Access Control SystemsWork Schedule:Full-time position, with some travel possible on weekendsOn-call availability for emergency repair servicesTravel:Be available to travel up to 75% as necessary, including short notice requirements.
