Instructional Assistant - Category II Class A (2025-26 school year) - Multiple Positions

Work Schedule: School year only, 5.75 hours a day, Monday through FridayReports to: Building Principal, unless otherwise notedGeneral PurposeThe Instructional Assistant's principle role is to assist the teacher with the preparation and delivery of instruction primarily to individuals and small groups of students. It is the responsibility of the teacher to provide direct instruction to the students, providing the IA direct guidance. IA's assist with school-wide procedures including supervision of school activities and other duties as assigned by the principal.Main Job Tasks and ResponsibilitiesMaintain student and staff confidentialityComply with standard rules, regulations, and procedures assigned by Building PrincipalBe part of the total support team for students and staffBe professional when dealing with students, staff, and parentsSupport the teacher and related staff, who provide service for the studentSupport the educator/teacher's overall goals and objectives for each individual studentAid in the development and maintenance of a positive work environmentCommunicate concerns to the administrator or assigned teacher in a timely and professional mannerBe on time and maintain good attendanceAttend in-services and training, as requiredRequest teacher support when necessary or when more explanation is neededCommunicate important information to the teacher concerning studentsEducation and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalentMust meet current state requirements (ParaPro Exam or a minimum of 60 college credit hours)Previous experience working with students. Desire to make a positive difference and be a positive influence in students' lives. Understanding and experience in an educational setting.
