Summary:
The Human Resources Representative will be responsible for a wide range of HR functions, including payroll processing, benefits administration, employee relations, maintaining records, and implementing HR policies. The duties will involve assisting team members enroll in and access their insurance coverage including, but not limited to medical, dental, vision and life. Other tasks include explaining retirement plan options and tracking payroll data, including PTO and sick leave.
Functions/Responsibilities:
Communication: Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns. Help maintain a positive work environment by facilitating conflict resolution and fostering open communication.
Payroll processing: Ensure payroll is accurate and paid on time, including processing payroll transactions, overseeing electronic payments and check distribution, and updating data for salary or wage adjustments. Prepare and import timecard data and track employee PTO.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including tax withholdings, garnishments, child support and other legal aspects of payroll processing.
Records and Reporting: Maintain integrity of HRIS system and employee files. Prepare reports for management and auditors, and produce reports upon request
Collaboration: Collaborate with Director of Human Resources and finance departments to streamline processes and coordinate with DHR about status changes (e.g. terminations, new hires).
Confidentiality: Maintaining confidentiality of employee information and payroll records at all times
Benefits: Assist employees to enroll in benefits plans, explain benefits to new hires, and resolve issues with insurance providers. This includes processing payroll deductions for benefits, conducting meetings with employees, and monitoring insurance claims. The coordinator should also verify all insurance billing, maintain employee database and files, and ensure compliance with required benefit notices.
Participate in HR projects such as employee engagement activities, talent development, and succession planning. May assist in employee onboarding and orientations.

Strong knowledge of payroll and benefits principles, regulations, and HR best practice
Proficient in HRIS software and Excel to process and analyze payroll data
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in data entry
Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience:
Two to five years previous Human Resource Generalist experience, concentration on payroll and benefits
Demonstrated success and desire to excel in a fast-paced environment is necessary.
Strong skills in Windows and Microsoft Office are essential
AP/AR experience a plus
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
