Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking aPhysical Measurements Support Engineerto join our team and serve as a key technical resource supporting our Physical Measurements Product line. In this role, you will deliver both pre- and post-sales support, including hands-on instrument demonstrations, customer installations, application training, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance for assigned product lines. You'll partner closely with regional sales and service teams to ensure customer success through a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Conduct technical demonstrations, installations, and customer trainings on hardware/softwareProvide first-line customer support and issue resolutionMaintain and manage regional demonstration inventoryCollaborate with sales and service teams in a team-selling modelSupport product line and regional leadership on various technical initiativesRegular travel within the region, including overnight stays and air travelEDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in a physical science, material science, chemistry, mechanical engineering, or related fieldAt least 2 years of experience in field support of physical measurement instrumentation; UTM, Hardness testers, thermal analyzer, Particle size analyzers, X-Ray, NDI CT scanner, or similar productsExperience in training, application support, and physical measurement instrumentation such as testing machines, or similar productsExcellent communication and customer relations skillsAbility to travel within the assigned territory, including overnight stays as needed; and outside the local region for coverage and operational supportAbility to troubleshoot complex instrumentation issues and provide effective solutionsAt Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, we believe in providing structured career paths that recognize and reward talent. This full-time, exempt position comes with a comprehensive benefits package. In your first year, you will receive 10 paid vacation days, 8 paid personal days, 8 paid scheduled holidays and 3 paid floating holidays (Residents of California and Puerto Rico will receive state-mandated sick leave instead of personal days). After one year of employment, you will also be eligible for a generous short-term disability program with the company covering 100% of monthly premiums.The starting salary range for this role is $93,000 to $95,000 annually, paid semi-monthly. Additional variable compensation includes an incentive plan based on company performance, paid semi-annually in April and October.
