Our faculty have served and worked in more than 60 countries and bring practical insights into the classroom from cultures and languages around the world.Job Overview The Director of Business Administration is responsible for contributing to the overall success and sustainability of DIU through effective stewardship of resources, accurate reporting, and advising on business strategy. The position involves overseeing and managing various aspects of the University’s business operations that primarily include the departments for Finance, Scholarships, and Human Resources. ActivitiesFinancial Management: Direct staff involved in financial planning, budgeting, and monitoring financial performance to ensure that the University’s financial resources are used effectively and in line with its goals. Ensure proper and optimized use of the university’s finance software. Policy Development: Develop policies and procedures that align with their departmental goals and best practices. Work with the Senior Leadership Team on overall policy manual improvements.Risk Management: Identify and manage potential risks to the University, including financial, operational, and strategic risks. Developing strategies to mitigate these risks is also part of the role.Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports and projections for Senior Leadership Team to use for strategic planning.Scholarship Oversight: Oversee DIU’s scholarship process, including the system for taking applications, the reporting needed for the committee to make decisions, and the administration of awards and reporting. Administration: Maintaining (or ensuring that delegated staff maintain) DIU’s business-related functions including financial credentials (e.g., ECFA), bank accounts, etc.Other duties as assigned.Communication Meet as requested with the Senior Leadership Team. Meet regularly with the Provost and as needed with the President.Use project management tools, Outlook, and Teams for collaboration.Maintain professional correspondence with faculty/staff, vendors, organizations, and partners.Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or similar degree preferred.Small business ownership or CFO experience preferred.Experience in project management and department-level leadership.Strong oral and written communication skills Detailed orientation, analytical ability; strong skills in data management and reportingFluency with standard corporate technology including Microsoft 365 suite, project management software, PowerBI, and ERPs. Hours20-40 hours per week.Normal office hours are 8-5, M-F. Remote flexibility is negotiable. Available after hours occasionally, when necessary. Physical Requirements Decent physical health is required.
