As we grow, our employees grow with us.Summary of PositionNurse Practitioners provide medical services in collaboration with a physician, for patients in primary care as well as in medical and surgical specialty areas.Principal AccountabilitiesObtains and documents patient history as appropriate to chief complaint or reason for visit.Conducts relevant physical exam and evaluates patient, documenting pertinent positive and negative findings.Diagnoses and treats disease and manages chronic illness.Prescribes medication in accordance with New York State and federal law.Orders appropriate laboratory, radiological and special examinations or tests; interprets resultsProvides preventative health services, including health education and counseling.Collaborates with other clinicians and staff members to ensure continuity of care of patients.Performs other job-related duties as required. QualificationsEducation, Training, Licenses, CertificationsGraduate of a Nurse Practitioner education program registered by the NYS Education DepartmentMaster’s DegreeLicensed and currently registered as a Registered Nurse by NYSCurrent New York State Registration as Nurse PractitionerCurrent Board Certification as an NP from a NYS approved accrediting bodyRelevant Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities1-3 years of related experienceExperience working with diverse populations in an ambulatory healthcare setting.BLSACLS strongly preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skills
