Put Kids First.Apache Junction Unified School District is seeking a dedicated, student-centered 2nd Grade Dual Language (Spanish) Teacher who believes deeply in our Kids First mission. As one of the first and most influential educators in a child's academic journey, you will help build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and bilingual development.We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about dual language instruction, committed to equity, and eager to create a warm, engaging classroom where students feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn. If you value relationships, collaboration, and high-quality instruction, we would love to meet you.What You'll DoCreate a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports effective instruction and student learning.Deliver high-quality instruction in Spanish and English aligned to State and District standards.Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of each learner.Communicate learning goals clearly and consistently using well-planned, organized instructional practices.Facilitate small and large group instruction using research-based strategies.Integrate technology to enhance learning and student engagement.Assess and monitor student progress; use data to guide instruction and interventions.Maintain accurate and complete records in accordance with State, Federal, and District requirements.Communicate regularly with families to support student growth and strengthen homeschool partnerships.Participate in team meetings to support the academic progress of low-performing or at-risk students.Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) effectively and collaboratively.Supervise students on campus and during school-sponsored activities.Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities by following safety expectations.Engage in school-wide events, professional development, and District initiatives.Continue developing professional competence through District PD and self-selected learning.Perform other duties as assigned to support school and District success.What You BringBachelor's required/ Master's Degree PreferredValid Arizona Teaching CertificateAZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance CardAppropriate certification for the positionSEI EndorsementSpanish fluency required (instruction delivered in Spanish as part of the Dual Language program)Commitment to bilingual education and culturally responsive teachingProfessional QualitiesBuilds positive relationships with students, families, and colleaguesReliable, responsible, and punctualFlexible and adaptable to changeAccepts direction with professionalismDemonstrates strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skillsMaintains confidentiality and shares sensitive information only on a need-to-know basisModels professionalism and serves as a positive role modelAdheres to District and school policies, procedures, and expectationsPhysical & Work Environment ExpectationsThis role requires regular movement around the classroom and campus, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
