Imperial Hwy., Downey, CA, 90242Duration: 10/01/2025 to 09/30/2026Job Overview: Senior Mainframe ArchitectA Mainframe Systems Programmer/Architect is a senior technical expert responsible for leading or supporting complex mainframe infrastructure projects. This includes the planning, installation, and configuration of core z/OS and other software products to support the organization's business needs. The role also involves overseeing modifications, testing, implementation, and maintenance of both hardware and software. Responsible for leading and supporting complex mainframe infrastructure projects, including planning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of z/OS systems and related software/hardware. The role requires expertise in system management via HMC, LPAR setup, CPU/I/O configuration, and storage management (DASD, tape, DFSMS). Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP), Parallel Sysplex, Coupling Facility, and hardware upgrades is essential. Hands-on experience with performance tuning (RMF, WLM), scripting (REXX, CLIST), automation (NetView), and advanced problem analysis (IPCS) is required. Proficiency with z/OSMF, SMP/E, USS, security tools (ACF2), and ISV products (CA, BMC) is highly valued.Experience Preferred7 years of experience within the last 10 years of strategic planning for the development a long-term roadmap for the mainframe's hardware and software, including disaster recovery and modernization initiatives. 7 years of experience within the last 10 years in managing and optimizing complex, high-availability Parallel Sysplex environments. 7 years of experience within the last 10 years leading mainframe hardware upgrades and installations. 7 years of experience within the last 10 years with modern integration techniques, including hybrid cloud and DevOps pipelines (e.g., z/OSMF). 7 years of experience within the last 10 years presenting technical strategies, risk assessments, and project updates to both technical teams and C-level executives. 7 years of experience within the last 10 years leading technical teams and fostering team growth.Education Preferred4 year bachelors degree in Information Technology or a related field.
