Trails Coordinator Parks, Seasonal

The Kenosha County Parks Division is accepting applications fora Long-Term Seasonal Trails Coordinator for the east end.Trails Coordinators are responsible for managing the Kenosha County Parks trail system including 15 miles of asphalt multiuse trails, hiking trails, boardwalk, and single-track mountain bike trails. Work involves heavy lifting, digging, carrying, brush cutting, and operating power equipment in the maintenance of the trails. Trails employees are in the field to investigate top priorities to maintain and improve trail conditions. Other tasks include installation and maintenance of trail signs and other wayfinding means, maintenance of both hard and soft surface trails, recording and maintenance of work progress, survey results, and map information.Trails Coordinators are expected to work in tandem with volunteer groups such as KAMBA (Kenosha Area Mountain Bike Alliance), Adopt-A-Trail volunteers, and other community organizations to perform general maintenance tasks along the trails network.This position may entail knowledge of common pruning techniques. Note that additional educational opportunities and on-the-job training will be available to the employee.2026 Pay Range: $16.00 - $25.00 per hourHiring BonusA Kenosha County seasonal Park candidate who is successfully hired and employed for at least 30 days shall be awarded a $200.00 bonus to their paycheck.Long-Term Seasonal PerksPesticide Applicator License: Employees who complete the Wisconsin Commercial Pesticide Applicator test to obtain the Turf and Landscape (3.0) and/or Aquatic (5.0) certification as part of the job may have associated fees paid up front.Chainsaw Safety Certification: Employees are eligible to participate in an annual chainsaw safety course.Clothing Allowance: Employees are eligible for a clothing allowance of up to $300 annually to be used on qualifying work-related gear.Paid Time Off (PTO): Employees may be granted two days of PTO at the start of each season beginning with their third consecutive season of employment.
