This role is essential to keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, a problem-solving mindset, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.ResponsibilitiesPerform routine maintenance and inspections on company vehicles and equipment (e.g., trucks, skid steers, pavers, rollers)Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and recommend corrective actionsComplete repairs including engine work, brake systems, electrical wiring, hydraulic components, and preventive maintenanceMaintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and parts inventory logsOrder parts, supplies, and materials needed for repairsOperate diagnostic tools and equipment safely and effectivelyEnsure shop area and tools are clean, organized, and maintainedAssist with emergency repairs in the field as neededComply with all company safety policies and OSHA regulationsCommunicate clearly with supervisors and operators about equipment status and repairsPerform additional duties as assignedQualifications2+ years of experience as a mechanic or technician, preferably in construction or heavy equipmentMust be at least 18 years of ageStrong knowledge of diesel and gas engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical componentsAbility to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codesSkilled in using diagnostic tools and hand/power toolsValid driver's license required; CDL is a plusASE certifications or vocational training preferred but not requiredStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as neededWorking ConditionsShop and outdoor environments with exposure to noise, grease, dust, and varying temperaturesRequires standing, bending, and lifting up to 75 lbs regularlyMay involve field service calls or emergency repairs after hoursTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
