Pediatric Coder (Remote) | 6-Month ContractLocation: Remote (Candidates must reside in MD, DC, VA, PA, DE, FL, or GA)Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM ESTAfter training, flexible schedules such as 7:00 AM-4:00 PM or 6:00 AM-3:00 PM may be available.Contract Length: 6 MonthsPotential for contract-to-hire based on business needs and performance.About the OpportunityMedasource is seeking an experienced Pediatric Coder to support one of the nation's leading academic healthcare organizations as they expand their pediatric urgent care services. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing coding team supporting the launch of a brand-new urgent care location, with plans for several additional locations in the future.This role is ideal for a confident, independent coder who has strong pediatric coding experience and is comfortable working in Epic.ResponsibilitiesAccurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for pediatric outpatient and urgent care encountersReview provider documentation to ensure complete and compliant codingCode a variety of common pediatric urgent care visits, including: Cough and upper respiratory infections, Ear infections, Strep throat, Fever, Minor fractures and orthopedic injuries, Other common pediatric illnesses and injuriesMaintain a minimum 95% coding accuracyCollaborate with coding leadership and providers to resolve documentation and coding questionsFollow all payer, regulatory, and organizational coding guidelinesRequired Qualifications5-10 years of professional medical coding experienceCurrent AAPC certification (CPC or equivalent)AHIMA-only certifications will not be consideredRecent Pediatric coding experienceEpic experience (Required)Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codingExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHigh school diploma or equivalentPreferred QualificationsExperience coding both Professional Fee (ProFee) and Facility encountersUrgent Care or Outpatient coding experienceExperience with multiple coding software platformsTraining ProcessCoding and Epic training providedWhy Apply?100% Remote opportunityJoin a respected healthcare organization during an exciting period of growthSupport the launch of a brand-new pediatric urgent care programOpportunity to make an immediate impact on a growing service linePotential for long-term employment based on performance and business needs
