Network Engineer
Overview
As a Network Engineer (Implementation Engineer) you will translate customer needs into secure, scalable network designs and oversee implementation across enterprise environments. You’ll work closely with Operations to diagnose faults, document designs, and ensure DISA STIG-aligned configurations with ATO readiness. The role combines design, implementation, and incident escalation to support mission-critical networks in a disciplined, security-focused team. This is a hands-on, specialist role with opportunities to shape secure, resilient infrastructure.

ResponsibilitiesInterpret customer requirements and apply standard design approaches for service deliveryFully document designs with diagrams, BOMs, cabling sheets, configurations, and supporting docsSchedule maintenance windows for migrations with minimal impact on data flowsProvide technical expertise to Operations for fault isolation and resolutionDevelop secure network designs aligned with DISA STIGs and enterprise policiesObtain Authority to Operate (ATO) for new devices and capabilitiesSupervise other network support specialists to plan, coordinate, and implement servicesDevelop and improve design products, processes, and systemsServe as escalation point for enterprise-level outages across teams
Key requirementsTS/SCI w/ Poly10 years of experience or equivalent education/experience blendDoD 8140 IAT Level 2Experience in Tier III+ network operations and/or design/implementationProduction network hardware configurations for Cisco, Brocade, and/or JuniperHands-on routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) in productionHands-on switching/trunking (VLANs, 802.1q, port-channels)Knowledge of CAN/LAN considerationsAbility to work autonomously in a network engineering teamProactive documentation and process improvement skillsInitiativeDisciplined work ethicAbility to work unsupervised within a teamCAN/LAN network designMPLS WANsNetwork management tools
