AP Specialist/Staff Accountant

AP Specialist/Staff AccountantWe have an immediate need for an AP Specialist/Staff Accountant to join our client for a contract-to-hire position. This role is responsible for managing the full accounts payable process, including invoice entry, payment processing, check runs, and maintaining organized financial records and reports. The role also supports daily and monthly reconciliations along with general accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.Location: Onsite in Irvine, CACompensation: This job is expected to pay about $30-40/hr, $65,000-75,000 plus benefitsWhat You’ll Do: Perform day to day accounts payable transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts payable invoices to accounting system, Banktel.Audit and process employee travel and expense report reimbursements using BankTel.Work closely with employees to ensure reports are filed timely and ensure compliance with travel & expense policyFollow-up with employees on past due expense reports and missing receiptsEnter, review, and process invoices.Monitor accounts, maintain logs and records, and prepare reportsReconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balancesCommunicate with both vendors and internal customers regarding account status and follows up on inquiries, including assistance with inquires for vendor history, invoice status and payment statusPay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentationProvide support and answer inquiries from employeesIdentify process improvement opportunities to support expense report processing efficienciesPrepare daily bank reconciliations, including FRB, Union and PCBBPrepare various monthly reconciliationsAssist in gathering documents for audit requestsAssist team with various month-end close related activitiesPrepare journal entries to fund Amex and Corporate Debit card accounts and to accrue for monthly chargesPrepare and input various departmental wiresWhat Gets You the Job: 2+ years of experience in accounts payable functionsExperience working at a financial institution preferredAssociate degree or higher preferred.Experience using Banktel preferred.Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.Please send your resume to Hannah Xu, Senior Technical Recruiter for immediate consideration.Irvine Technology Corporation (ITC) is a leading provider of technology and staffing solutions for IT, Security, Engineering, and Interactive Design disciplines servicing startups to enterprise clients, nationally.
