Senior Operator - Graveyard Shift (11pm to 7:30am)

Job DetailsDescriptionPosition SummaryThe Senior Operator is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of machinery and equipment in the production environment. This role involves coordinating daily tasks, troubleshooting issues, mentoring staff, and ensuring production goals and quality standards are met.Key Performance Areas (Essential Functions)Operate, monitor, and maintain machinery or equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).Lead shift operations, providing guidance to operators and production workers.Ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety protocols are consistently met.Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.Train and mentor new and junior operators.Record and report daily production data, downtime, and any deviations from standard processes.Work collaboratively with quality assurance, continuous improvement, and maintenance teams.Ensure proper documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements.Identify and suggest process improvements for increased efficiency and safety.Participate in safety meetings and actively support safety culture on the floor.Experiences / Education RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred.3+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.Proven experience operating and maintaining production machinery.Strong understanding of safety procedures and quality control standards.Ability to read and interpret technical documents and work orders.Excellent communication and leadership skills.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.Knowledge of ERP or MES systems for tracking production (preferred).Forklift certification (preferred).Working ConditionsGeneral Manufacturing EnvironmentWork is regularly performed inside the plant and occasionally in the surrounding grounds and facilities. Because of this, employees are frequently exposed to adverse weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, wind, rain and snow. Lighting varies based on the season, weather and conditions in the plant. Employees regularly work near moving mechanical parts, material handling equipment and are exposed to ergonomic hazards, noise and dust.Physical RequirementsThe physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.Work is fast paced, and employees are expected to perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor, therefore they must have excellent stamina, be in good physical condition and capable of handling objects up to 75 lbs in weight. Individuals must also have good eyesight, hearing and better than average coordination in order to keep up with production equipment. In addition to these requirements employees are regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend, climb, and walk about the facility and production areasPosition Type/Expected Hours Of WorkThis is a full-time position. Days worked are generally Monday through Friday, with weekends added as needed.
