Occupational Therapist Location: West Branch, MI Agency: Cynet Health Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Start Date: 3/30/2026 About the Position Job Title: Occupational Therapist I Profession: Occupational Therapist Specialty: Outpatient Duration: Full-Time Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Sunday 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM or Tuesday through Friday 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM Experience: More than 1 year of experience preferred, but will consider new graduates. License: Must possess a valid Occupational Therapy license. Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) within 1 month of hire or transfer - NBCOT certification in Occupational Therapy Must-Have: - Interpersonal skills for effective verbal and written communication. - Ability to work independently and demonstrate problem-solving and organizational skills. Description: This position delegates responsibility to the Occupational Therapist Assistant and Aides. Activities of this position are patient focused and utilize assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with occupational therapy standards and physician orders. Area treated includes acute and outpatient settings. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Evaluates the patient’s function by performing formal and informal testing measures. Develops a treatment plan based on assessment data and the patient’s tolerance. Submits a written treatment plan to be included as part of the plan authorized by and coordinated with the physician. Updates the plan of care as needed to reflect changes in patient status. Educates the patient, family, and/or caregiver regarding their condition and treatment options. Provides supervision for Occupational Therapist Assistants and Aides. Other Duties and Responsibilities: Recommends adaptive equipment based on assessment and assists in securing it for patients. Documents patient responses to treatment and changes in condition per documentation policies. Completes daily documentation necessary for billing procedures. Demonstrates competence in providing treatment interventions and restoring optimal functioning. Educates patients and caregivers on home education programs using effective teaching methods. Promotes education and development among staff and students. Participates in team conferences and interdisciplinary meetings. Maintains confidentiality of patient information in accordance with policies and procedures. Fosters a commitment to quality service and teamwork. Physical/Mental Requirements and Working Conditions: Able to move freely about the facility and perform essential job functions. May be exposed to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, trauma, grief, and death. Requires physical demands including lifting, standing, walking, and frequent postural changes. Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
