Technical Writer

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!The Role• Develop, write, edit, and maintain technical documentation for sophisticated technical programs supporting national-security missions.• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and audience-appropriate documentation.• Collaborate with engineers, developers, architects, analysts, and subject-matter experts to gather and validate technical information.• Create and maintain system documentation, user guides, standard operating procedures, release notes, and technical manuals.• Review and update existing documentation for accuracy, consistency, clarity, and completeness.• Manage multiple documentation assignments and meet established deadlines within controlled environments.What You'll Need• Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience.• 3-5+ years of professional technical writing experience supporting software, technology, systems engineering, defense, intelligence, or similar technical environments.• Proven experience creating and maintaining various types of technical documentation.• Experience working with technical teams to gather, understand, and document system or software information.• Hands-on experience with collaboration and documentation tools such as Confluence and Jira.• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, information organization, and communication skills.What's On Offer• Competitive annual salary ($65,650 - $118,675) plus potential for bonuses.• Opportunity to shape the communication of critical technical information.• Flexible, telework-friendly schedule.• Comprehensive benefits package including health and wellness programs, income protection, paid leave, and retirement.Apply via Haystack today!
