What We ExpectAThe first 3 letters in workplace safety are Y-O-U!TK Elevator is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer III to join our team in Byhalia, MSThis role will research, design and develop optimal, cost-effective processes and methods in accordance with specifications and quality standards using LEAN principles. Under minimal supervision apply comprehensive knowledge of a particular field of technical specialization to large projects. Interface with Product Engineering, Logistics, Operations and vendor. Responsibility may include mentoring lower-level engineers.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (List In Order Of Priority)Research, design and develop optimal, cost-effective processes and methods in accordance with specifications and quality standards using LEAN principles.Support SQDC and participate in Rapid Improvement Events.Prepare facility layouts as needed. Conduct time studies of production to develop standard work for production cells and to create and maintain SOPs.Process Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s) for new and improved products.Manage large capital projects including writing capital requests and installation of new equipment.Develop and maintain SOP’s and Standard Work for assigned operations.Provide technical support/solutions to the manufacturing processes.Drive cost reduction and optimal quality.Order tooling and fixtures needed in assigned department.Resolve complex quality issues including field complaints, warranty issues and defective parts.Monitor quality discrepancies, identify trends and investigate quality problems and implement corrective actions.Work with Procurement to conduct make/buy analysis for all new partsPrepare cost estimates for Accounting.Drive continuous improvement efforts within the department.Who we are looking forRequired Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesStrong organizational and time management skills.Solid written and oral communication skills essential for the role.Proven ability to take initiative and anticipate needs, work independently with minimal guidance.Demonstrated acumen for solving complex problems and prioritizing workload.Demonstrated effective decision making skills are requiredDemonstrated ability to work well with others required.Must possess effective verbal and written communication skillsStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite requiredRequired Work ExperienceFive to nine years’ engineering experience in a manufacturing environment required.Experienced in leading project teams required.Strong knowledge of fabrication and machining required.Experience with developing and meeting project schedules; along with contingency plans.Experience in utilizing high mix/volume manufacturing methods, procedures and cost-reduction techniques using Lean manufacturing tools: including 6S, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Pull Systems, Cellular Manufacturing and Kaizen events.Required Education, Certifications, TrainingBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field requiredPMP Certification preferred.Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred.What we offerProvided they meet all eligibility requirement under the applicable plan documents, employees will be offeredMedical, dental, and vision coverageFlexible spending accounts (FSA)Health savings account (HSA)Supplemental medical plansCompany-paid short- and long-term disability insuranceCompany-paid basic life insurance and AD&DOptional life and AD&D coverageOptional spouse and dependent life insuranceIdentity theft monitoringPet insuranceCompany-paid Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Tuition reimbursement401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with company match: Employees can contribute a portion of their pay on a pre-tax or Roth basis.
