Credit & Collections AMATAPAC Central Inc., a CRH company producing and providing crushed aggregate materials, sand, ready-mix concrete, asphalt, and performing as a regional heavy highway/infrastructure construction firm serving Arkansas, Oklahoma, and southern Missouri, is looking for an entry-level, temporary role in the accounting department. This position is focused on processing payments and adjusting customer accounts, with a range of additional duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the department.Key ResponsibilitiesWork effectively in a high-volume accounting environment. Demonstrate initiative and attention to detail, managing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines. Post deposit receipts in accounting software; ensure daily, accurate application of funds to customer accounts. Generate, scan, review, submit for approval, and file all required deposit reports and supporting documents. Maintain SOX compliance for all deposit postings. Coordinate payments with invoices, sales, credit, and customers to resolve any unapplied amounts. Prepare and submit discrepancy adjustment forms for approval, including necessary backup documentation. Maintain organized backup files and scanned records for all adjustment batches. Enter approved adjustments into accounting software and maintain SOX compliance. Generate, review, submit for approval, and scan required adjustment reports and supporting files. Assist with maintaining Tax Exemption certificate files in QuickBase. Collaborate with the credit department to resolve customer deductions promptly, communicating with sales, credit, and customers to determine whether credits or repayments are appropriate. Associate's degree in business is preferred. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check. Proficiency in Microsoft Applications and ability to learn new software as needed. Pass a pre-employment physical(s). Show a professional and courteous attitude toward coworkers, supervisors, and the public. Report to work at the designated start time and be willing to work overtime when required. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook. Demonstrate teamwork and assist coworkers or supervisors with other assignments as needed. Must be at least 18 years old. Provide valid documentation of legal rights to work. Solid understanding of accounting practices. Strong math skills to meet job requirements. Proficient in 10-key operations. Basic experience and knowledge of Accounts Receivable, Cash Applications, Billing, General Ledger account reconciliation, and data entry; cash applications experience is a plus. Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility. Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height. Lift and move objects weighing up to 5075 lbs. as needed. Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions. Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments. Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely.
