SchedulePart-Time position with primarily daytime hours on weekdays, but responsibilities will require additional hours and flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and overnight travel.Position DescriptionLeTourneau University offers year-round transportation for our students, including daily transit from our Longview campuses, and some summer, evening, and weekend trips. Primary role of candidate is as a driver while school is in session.Candidate Must Have The Ability ToTransport students to and from the university, following a preplanned route according to a specified time schedule and the academic calendarConduct daily routine safety inspections and report all findings to Fleet Services Coordinator Inspect and adjust engine fluid levels and fuel the bus, in addition to other aspects of a regular maintenance scheduleKeep interior and exterior of the buses clean on a daily basisMaintain required transportation record and report any traffic violations and/or accidents during working hours to supervisor and proper authoritiesOperate bus in a safe manner that complies with state and local law and in a manner that demonstrates Christian care and principle at all timesAssist passengers in the operation of heating and ventilation equipment on the busAssume responsibility for the safety of passengers upon boarding and exiting the bus at their destination, aid passengers with luggage, and answer questions regarding bus servicePerform assigned duties with frequent time pressures and in a sometimes disruptive environmentAttend/participate in safety and training meetingsDemonstrate professional and positive attitude/demeanor at all timesQUALIFICATIONS:High School diploma or GEDMaintain a valid fully unrestricted Commercial Drivers License CDL Class “B” with Airbrake and Passenger endorsementsMust be 21 Years of ageMinimum of three (3) years of commercial driving experienceGood driving record with no DUI or convictionsAble to maintain a D.O.T. physical.Ability to carry an object up to 75 pounds, bend and twist frequently, and work in inclement weather conditionsMust pass a drug test and will be placed in a pool for random substance abuse testing LeTourneau University seeks a person with an enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith committed to Christian higher education that integrates Christian faith with learning.
