Directional Driller

Job Description Horizontal Directional Driller (Fiber Construction) We're looking for a hands-on Horizontal Directional Driller to join a growing fiber construction team. If you enjoy working outdoors, operating equipment, and being part of building critical infrastructure, this is a great opportunity to get in with a solid crew and grow your skills. What You'll Do * Operate horizontal directional drills or work as a locator to support drilling operations * Install, maintain, and repair underground and aerial fiber lines * Read prints, maps, and staking sheets to complete fiber installs accurately * Set pedestals, vaults, and handholes for outside plant construction * Assist with fiber splicing, troubleshooting, and repairs * Restore job sites to original condition after work is completed * Operate equipment such as trenchers, plows, excavators, and bucket trucks * Label and mark fiber/cable facilities clearly and accurately * Use mobile apps/tools to track and coordinate work in the field Day-to-Day Work * Perform general construction work in various weather conditions * Load/unload and transport equipment to and from job sites * Use hand tools, locators, and testing equipment * Climb poles, ladders, and structures when needed * Follow all safety procedures and job site requirements What We're Looking For * 2+ years of horizontal directional drilling experience * At least 1 year of CDL driving experience (or ability to obtain one) * Background in construction, utilities, telecom, electrical, or similar field * Comfortable working outdoors and performing physical labor (lifting, digging, climbing, etc.) * Ability to work overtime or flexible shifts as needed * Valid driver's license and ability to meet DOT requirements * Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work on a team Nice to Have * Experience in fiber construction or telecom * Experience operating heavy equipment (Vermeer, Ditch Witch, etc.) * Basic knowledge of fiber installation and splicing * Class A CDL (or willingness to obtain one - training may be available) Why This Role * Opportunity to work on expanding fiber networks (high-demand industry) * Hands-on work with modern equipment and tools * Growth potential into lead/operator or specialized roles * Consistent work with overtime opportunities Company Description -\tWhat you didn't know about us: -\tCompetitive salary -\tHealth, Dental and Vision Benefits -\tShort/Long Term Disability and Critical Care/Illness Protection -\tLife Insurance and Retirement Plans -\tEmployee Assistance Program -\tWith this position, you will get the opportunity to work with our game changing clients and further advance your already valuable experience in the telecom industry! -\tWe are Connectors.
