In this PRN role, you’ll play a key part in delivering safe, accurate imaging while working alongside a supportive care team dedicated to exceptional outcomes.This is an excellent opportunity for students currently enrolled in a radiologic technology program to gain hands-on clinical experience and build a strong foundation for their future career.Key ResponsibilitiesPractice within the scope of state licensure and maintain required ARRT or modality-specific competenciesEnsure proper patient identification and verify orders prior to imagingPrepare patients for procedures and provide clear, compassionate educationPerform imaging exams according to department protocolsReview images for quality, clarity, and accuracyAdhere to all radiation safety standards and maintain a safe work environmentComplete studies efficiently without compromising patient care or image qualityApply proper infection control and sterile techniquesOperate imaging equipment and related systems effectivelyMaintain accurate documentation of procedures, patient history, and any adverse reactionsFollow protocols related to medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, quality control, and equipment reportingSkills & CompetenciesStrong understanding of anatomy and image evaluationProficiency in equipment operation and electronic imaging systemsKnowledge of contrast protocols and emergency response proceduresAbility to work independently while contributing to a team environmentEffective communication and patient interaction skillsStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasksCommitment to maintaining a clean and safe environmentMinimum QualificationsCurrently enrolled in a JRCERT- or AMA-approved Radiologic Technology programDocumented completion of required clinical and didactic training per state regulationsBasic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (current)Why Join American Fork Hospital?Flexible PRN scheduling to accommodate your academic commitmentsHands-on learning in a high-quality, patient-centered facilitySupportive team environment focused on professional growth and developmentOpportunity to build experience within Intermountain HealthPhysical RequirementsOngoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
