Mortgage Loan Processor

Job SummaryThe Loan Processor II serves as the primary point of contact for borrowers throughout the mortgage process. This role is responsible for verifying, compiling, and reviewing information on residential mortgage loan applications, ensuring files are accurate, complete, and compliant with established standards. The Loan Processor II collaborates closely with Loan Originators, Underwriters, Closers, and Title Companies to facilitate a smooth and timely loan process.Essential Job FunctionsThe statements below describe the general nature and level of work performed. They are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities required.Build strong working relationships with borrowers, Mortgage Loan Originators, Underwriters, Closers, and Title CompaniesCommunicate promptly with all parties to facilitate timely loan closingsManage the loan process to meet borrower expectationsComplete initial file reviews and conduct welcome calls to borrowersMaintain and update loan information in Encompass, including document uploadsReview documentation for accuracy and completeness before submitting to UnderwritingEnsure all Change of Circumstance requests (excluding rate locks) are submitted within compliance timeframesManage pipeline daily to ensure all tasks are completed within required deadlinesReview underwriting approvals and communicate outstanding conditions to borrowers and Loan OfficersOrder and follow up on appraisals, title, insurance, verifications, credit supplements, LDP/GSA, payoffs, and other required itemsConduct borrower follow-up every other day to gather required documentationAnalyze and verify conditions received; obtain corrections or additional items when necessaryAssist other departments as neededEnsure all customer files comply with applicable federal and state mortgage regulationsMaintain customer privacy and secure handling of all loan filesPerform additional duties as assignedSkills & CompetenciesProficiency with Encompass or similar LOS; ability to run desktop underwriting systemsStrong attention to detail with accurate data entry skillsExcellent, professional verbal and written communicationStrong working knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and USDA guidelinesThorough understanding of mortgage terminology (DTI, LTV, PITI, etc.)Knowledge of real estate lending practices and regulatory requirementsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining top-tier customer serviceEffective time management, organization, and teamwork skillsBilingual (English/Spanish) preferredEducation & ExperienceOption 1:Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of direct mortgage industry experienceOROption 2:7 years of direct mortgage industry experience (in lieu of degree)
