Production Underwriter - Energy

Authentic helps insurance brokers create better insurance products for their clients. We handle the complex (technology, compliance, and partnerships with highly-rated insurance carriers), so they can focus on serving their customers and growing their business.We're hiring a detail-oriented, analytical, and business-minded underwriter to join our growing team. This role is ideal for candidates with early to mid-career underwriting experience in the energy space who are excited to work in a fast-paced startup environment and want to help build scalable underwriting processes from the ground up. You'll play a critical role in evaluating risk, pricing insurance programs, and partnering closely with sales, product, and operations teams to support the growth of Authentic's newly launched energy program. This role reports to our Head of Capacity.What You'll DoEvaluate, underwrite, and price risks in line with underwriting guidelines and program objectivesReview applications, loss histories, financials, and other underwriting data to assess risk exposureDevelop and refine underwriting guidelines for new and existing insurance programsCollaborate with sales and operations teams to support new program launches and renewals Monitor portfolio performance, loss ratios, and emerging risk trendsContribute to process improvement, automation, and documentation as the underwriting function scalesWho You Are4+ years of underwriting experience in the energy spaceStrong analytical and quantitative skills with high attention to detailAbility to evaluate risk and make sound underwriting judgments in ambiguous situationsComfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high-growth environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsThe salary range for this role is $80,000 - $150,000 + high performance based variable compensation potentialOur (FTE) benefitsCompetitive salary, equity, and role trajectoryComprehensive health benefits for you and your family401(k) plan with company matchUnlimited PTOPaid parental leaveAbout AuthenticAuthentic is transforming how insurance is distributed.
